The latest statistics from RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) reveal that 144 workers were killed in the UK during 2017/18. Whilst any number of deaths in the workplace is too many, when this figure is compared to data from 20 years ago, fatalities within British industries has almost halved thanks to increased regulations and health and safety concerns moving higher up the board room agenda.
