Ascom DECT Handsets

DECT is an easy way for employees to communicate whilst away from their desk, anywhere on site.   Handsets work similarly to a mobile phone and enable users to speak to contacts 1:1 both internally and externally.

We offer a full range of Ascom DECT handsets suitable for staff operating in office, industrial and ATEX environments.  

Coverage and Connectivity

To set up the Ascom DECT system, strategically placed IP Radio base stations are deployed across your site. Once the DECT phones are registered with the system, users can roam from one base station to another. Calls will handover to keep you connected, as you walk and talk around the site.

Additionally, we will seamlessly integrate the IP DECT system with your existing telephone system, whether it be on-premise, Cloud-based, or TEAMS, ensuring that DECT users remain fully connected and capable of making and receiving calls from both internal and external parties.

Staff Protection & Alarms

When performing tasks in high risk roles such as in secure homes or in hazardous (ATEX) environments as a lone worker - integrated emergency features like a panic button and man-down sensor can provide peace of mind that colleagues can be easily alerted if support is required.    

When initiated, alarms are sent directly to responders on their DECT phones detailing who's triggered the alert, their phone number and their location. This makes it easy for a member of the response team to get in touch and support them. If the incident is serious, armed with their DECT phone they have the perfect tool to request further support such as from the first aid team and emergency services if necessary. They can even collaborate with colleagues so that paramedics can access the site and be directed to the scene of the incident, all without moving from the spot.

First Aid Incidents

Utilizing a DECT system to manage first aid incidents enables the implementation of an efficient process, ensuring that a team member can promptly attend to the incident without the need for follow-up requests. The two-way functionality of the DECT system facilitates this seamless response. For instance, support can be swiftly requested by broadcasting a Push-To-Talk (PTT) announcement directly to the first aid team or by sending a message to the entire group. In either scenario, the first aid team possesses the capability to promptly respond, not only updating the requester but also informing the rest of the team. This results in a faster and more streamlined process overall.

Managing Fire Alarms and Critical Alarms

DECT technology can help support your fire team in managing fire alarms effectively. Firstly, the DECT phones receive instant notifications directly specifying which fire sensor(s) were triggered and their precise location. This eliminates the need for the fire team to waste valuable time checking fire panels for this crucial information, allowing them to rush straight to the incident without any detours.

Furthermore, the DECT system empowers the fire team to collaborate seamlessly through the innovative Push-To-Talk (PTT) feature. By utilizing PTT, team members can confer, provide real-time updates, and effectively delegate tasks. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and enables efficient coordination during critical situations.
