Enhancing security guard tour monitoring systems through a low cost radio solution

Written by ANT Telecom | 24 Aug 2015

From shopping centres and construction sites, to warehouses, factories and hotels, it's vital for security guards to have a robust radio solution in place in order for them to be able to effectively protect areas that can be targeted by vandalism and opportunistic thieves. It's also paramount for a company to ensure the safety of both its staff and customers.

Many organisations have radio systems in place but for a business looking to add bolt on features to its existing system or replace a legacy system, designer and manufacturer of professional mobile radio communications equipment, Hytera, has launched its new patrol system solution, PD415, which is sold through ANT Telecom, and can be tailored to individual customer needs.

Security and safety

Without requiring substantial investment, the PD415 digital patrol radio system offers real-time tracking management through Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID). RFID readers are embedded into the radios, and can read RFID tags attached to objects at different locations; automatically sending information back to a receiving station. The system helps guarantee that security guards get to all the check points covered in a shift on time and raises an alarm if they do not make it to a location within the allocated time.

Analogue and digital signal

Detecting both analogue and digital signal, PD415 automatically switches between analogue and digital mode. Dual modes (analogue & digital) operation also provides a smooth migration for customers from analogue to digital systems.

PD415 is a small, sleek and light solution that is easy to deploy. Offering a company complete visibility, key features include:

  • A wireless system that improves the productivity of a security worker
  • Military standard and good dust-proof & water-proof rating (IP55) to protect the radio from damage in industrial environments
  • Portable repeaters
  • Report exporting, offline data uploading and patrol data backup
  • Long life battery supporting full shifts without recharge
  • Low cost entry to a security system
